Frequently Asked Questions

Qualification & Eligibility

How do I qualify for medical marijuana in Florida?
To qualify, you must be a Florida resident (permanent or seasonal) with a documented qualifying condition. Florida recognizes 17 qualifying conditions including cancer, epilepsy, PTSD, chronic pain, anxiety, and others. An Aatma physician will evaluate your medical history and determine if medical marijuana is appropriate for your specific condition during your consultation.

Do I need a medical marijuana card before contacting Aatma?
No. We handle the entire process. After your evaluation and physician approval, we'll guide you through Florida's Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU) registry enrollment. The physician recommendation is submitted directly to the state.

What if I don't qualify for medical marijuana?
If our physician determines you don't qualify based on your medical history and condition, there is no charge for your evaluation. Your wellness consultation is complimentary.

Services & Appointments

What do I get with an Aatma subscription?
Aatma offers three subscription tiers (Vana, Ananda, and Premier) that include monthly telehealth consultations with your dedicated physician, ongoing dosing guidance, strain recommendations, recertification services, and real-time support between appointments. All consultations and recertifications are included—no hidden fees.

How often will I see my physician?
Every month if you wish. Unlike traditional services that see patients once or twice yearly, Aatma includes monthly telehealth appointments as part of your subscription. This ensures your treatment plan stays optimized for your needs.

Can I switch between subscription tiers?
Yes. You can adjust your subscription level based on your needs. Contact our team to modify your plan at any time.

Are consultations telehealth or in-person?
Both options are available. Initial evaluations must be conducted in-person. Follow-up monthly consultations are primarily conducted via secure telehealth for convenience.

What happens during my initial evaluation?
Your initial consultation typically takes 15-45 minutes and includes a comprehensive medical history review, medication assessment, discussion of your symptoms and wellness goals, physical examination (if applicable), and a treatment recommendation. We'll also answer all your questions about medical marijuana.

Treatment & Guidance

Will the physician recommend a specific strain?
Yes. Based on your condition, symptoms, and medical history, our physician will provide evidence-based strain recommendations tailored to your specific needs—including CBD/THC ratios, consumption methods, and dosing guidance.

What if my treatment plan needs adjustment?
That's exactly why we include monthly consultations. Your physician will monitor your response to treatment and make adjustments to optimize your wellness outcomes. You're never locked into one recommendation.

Do you provide dosing guidance?
Yes. Physician-assisted dosing is included in all subscription packages. Our physicians provide specific guidance on appropriate dosages based on your condition, tolerance, and goals.

Recertification & Renewal

How often do I need recertification?
Florida requires recertification every 7 months for initial patients. However, we recommend annual or bi-annual check-ins through your monthly subscription to ensure your treatment remains optimal. Recertifications are included in your subscription at no additional cost!

What if I miss my monthly appointment?
You can reschedule with your physician anytime. Your subscription remains active. We understand life happens—we're here when you're ready.
